Sound-Spelling Pattern

In a dictionary, words are given in isolation.
In natural speech, however, words are connected into sound groups.

Consonant Sound + Vowel Sound

Consonant Sound + Vowel Sound:

/w/ & /y/ + Vowel Sound

Consonant Sound + Same Consonant Sound

/t/ + /y/ = /ʧ/

/d/ + /y/ = /ʤh/
