    This is the method I used all those years to teach my students word final -s. They catch on immediately to the /Iz/ words…don’t need to know if they’re voiced or voiceless. That eliminates the first group. Then you realize that there are only a handful of voiceless sounds left…the vast majority of all endings sounds are voiced, so if you need to guess…guess “voiced.”

    My student would take 15-20 minutes and boom…all figured out. And without long verbal explanations.
