    Howdy Fatima,

We use these words every day. It’s surprising how many basic words I had to learn in foreign languages. Reading literature is really different than having the vocabulary to talk about daily life.

    Take care.

    American English:

    1) a hamper: in a laundry room, a basket for dirty laundry. We keep the hamper/laundry basket in the bathroom or bedroom, put our dirty clothes in it at the end of the day. On laundry day, we carry the hamper to the laundry room.

    2) a basket: a woven container that has many uses
