conjunction: and = /ən/

The word “and” has two secrets:
1)  It is often reduced and pronounced /ən/.
2) The /ən/connects to the word in front of it.

Example:

We write:  hot and cold
We say:  hotan cold

1. This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

2. A waitress comes to your table and asks you:
“May I take your order.”  (or)
