I wonder how an American pronounces…

temperature
/ˈtɛm-prə-t͡ʃɚ/

Nurse to patient:
You look sick.  Let’s take your temperature.

You’re really sick.  You have a very high temperature. = You have a fever.

We write 4 syllables:  tem-per-a-ture
We say 3 syllables:  /ˈtɛm-prə-t͡ʃɚ/

/-t͡ʃɚ/
/prə-t͡ʃɚ/
/ˈtɛm-prə-t͡ʃɚ/

Why do we say only 3 syllables?

Because R is king of the consonants.
R can make certain vowels disappear completely.

This video has a list of words with R + disappearing vowel.

I took some medicine, my temperature is back to normal now and I feel great.
